April 6, 2007 <br /> ~ r <br /> _.:i ~~i } <br /> Council members- STOP IT! <br /> It is time to stop the marijuana war that is a railroad to the world's g`r"eatest prison <br /> system. Its continuation is a fraud. It is based on a lie- as most wars are. It is not a <br /> dangerous drug. The DEA's own administrative law judge, Francis Young, testified that <br /> "cannabis is the safest therapeutic agent known to mankind." This Federal agenda does <br /> not rest on the consent of the governed. It destroys the consensus of trust necessary for <br /> an open society and free institutions to exist. It enforces eradication upon a plant that is <br /> not the problem and genocide is not an option. <br /> We can begin now by refusing to fund Green Harvest. No longer can we continue <br /> to deny the truth. Marijuana is now widely recognized as a legitimate medicine that <br /> effectively treats many maladies of modern life. These maladies are common in our lives <br /> and will affect many of us in the "normal" expression of our lives. The experience of its <br /> active ingredients is the feeling of well-being that initiates healing. <br /> The experience of Green Harvest is Lethal Force and oppression. It is a <br /> dangerous gateway that has made the ice epidemic and a working class of alcoholics. <br /> Beer is not the wisest bud! It is involved in most crimes and accidents and is the largest <br /> single cause of domestic violence. It's legal but what choice is left to the working class to <br /> handle the stress of a life in the fast lane? <br /> There is a great denial when school children must be dosed with anti- <br /> depressants to succumb to such a bleak future. Teen suicides are like clear-cutting a <br /> forest. The stumps don't lie. Teen deaths are now commonly suicides. Our scientists <br /> now are predicting millions-billions of us will be starving and poisoned off the planet in <br /> only decades of this life ahead of us. Is this the legacy you want to leave us? <br /> Vote NOT to approve the Federal funding that is becoming nothing but a war <br /> upon your constituents. Respect our lives and the futures of our children. Let love be <br /> present and let its light wash away all anger, fear and hatred from our deliberations on <br /> governing. A fear based belief system is what now rules this Federal agenda. Problem <br /> avoidance does not solve problems. It creates insanity. Love is the power that <br /> overcomes by facing fear. The Drug War is a recognized failure with a horrible record of <br /> creating crime while destrcying the Constitutior. and worsening the drug scene in every <br /> street in America.
