OVER 9OO PEOPLE FROM KA ` U <br />HAVE S/GNED THE PETITION <br />THAT READS: <br />Palapapala Noi Malama Punalu'u <br />Petition to Preserve Punalu'u &Ninole Cove <br />WHEREAS: Sea Mountain V proposes a 100-300 room luxury hotel, 1500- <br />1700 luxury residences and supporting retail and shopping center on <br />434 acres of sacred Kau that includes Punalu~u and Ninole Springs. <br />Permitting this development at historic Punalu'u, renowned throughout <br />the world for its unspoiled beauty and serenity, will irreparably damage <br />the natural beauty of Ka ~ u. <br />BE IT RESOLVED: That the County and State of Hawaii, Hawaiian Agencies <br />and Federal Government work together with the citizens of Kau to <br />acquire all of the 434 acres so that Punalu ~ u will be preserved forever as <br />a "living Classroom," and as a protected resource for all families, <br />fishermen and cultural practitioners in Hawai' i and the millions of <br />visitors to Punalu ~ u from around the world. <br />THIER VOICES CANNOT BE IGNORED <br />HERE /S A L/ST OF THE OVER 900 NAMES <br />FROM KA ~ U: <br />(Signed Petitions with signatures from each are on file <br />and a copy has been given to the Mayor and P/anning Dept. of Hawaii County.) <br />
