(BID) <br /> Dear Councilman Yagong and members of the Finance committee: <br /> My name is Gretchen Lawson. I am the President/CEO for the Arc of <br /> Kona, a private, non-profit charitable organization supporting people with <br /> disabilities throughout the island of Ilawaii. I am also a strong supporter of <br /> th@ entire community working to make Ilawaii Island the best it can be, I am <br /> aboard member for the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, a past member <br /> • ofthe Ilawaii Count y Transportation Commission and a current member of <br /> the Kona Community Development Steering committ@e. I am writing~o you , <br /> today to express my support fur the establishment of a Kailua Business <br /> Improvement District <br /> The Kailua Business Improvement District would supplement and <br /> enhance the services currently provided by the County and would be funded <br /> by a tax to those businesses existing within the boundaries of the $ID. The <br /> ~ w establishment of this BID will provide businesses, residents, visitors and . <br /> employees of Kailua Village with a clean, safe and enjoyable environment in <br /> which to live, work, play and invest.
