No. 239.5 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> Ben Franklin Building <br /> 333 Kilauea Avenue, 2°d Floor <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:45 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 239.5, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 239.5 from Mayor Harry Kim dated April 23, 2007, states that the South <br /> Kohala Community Development Plan (CDP) process has been initiated by the County of <br /> <br /> Hawaii Planning Department. It further states that 11 names were previously forwarded for <br /> review and confirmation but unfortunately one of the nominees is no longer able to fulfill the <br /> commitment of serving on the South Kohala Steering Committee. <br /> Communication No. 239.5 introduces an alternate nominee who is eager to participate in the <br /> CDP process and forwards to the Council for review and confirmation to the newly created <br /> South Kohala CDP, Mr. Sherman Warner. <br /> Communication No. 239.5 states that Mr. Sherman Warner has lived in Waimea for three years <br /> and spent the last twenty-five years as General Manager for a theatrical production and <br /> management company. Mr. Warner would like to help build a fair and just community that <br /> upholds our traditional values and guards the culture of one of the world's treasured places. <br /> At the May 15, 2007 Planning Committee meeting, there were no statements from the public <br /> presented on this matter. <br /> Council Chair Pete Hoffmann stated that when he met Mr. Warner he found Mr. Warner to be <br /> very articulate and had an understanding of issues facing the South Kohala community. <br /> PC Repon No. 29 <br /> <br />
