No. 170-07 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br /> 78-128 Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 170-07, reports as follows: <br /> The State of Hawaii Legislature enacted Act 160, Session Laws of Hawaii 2006, known as the <br /> Supplemental Appropriations of Act of 2006, which in part, appropriated funds to the State <br /> Department of Land and Natural Resources, the State Department of Agriculture, and the County <br /> of Hawaii for their coqui frog eradication and control efforts. The Department of Agriculture, <br /> which had previously given some of its funding to the County to purchase citric acid anhydrous, <br /> now proposes to enter into another contract with the County of Hawaii and provide $125,000 to <br /> administer acost-sharing program to assist qualified nurseries and landscape companies on the <br /> Island of Hawaii to finance the construction of hot water treatment facilities for the treatment of <br /> plants and plant parts for coqui frog disinfestation. <br /> Pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, it requires that County departments obtain the <br /> consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting <br /> <br /> action to be taken pursuant toany of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive <br /> any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to <br /> <br /> those powers. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 170-07 <br /> <br /> and recommends its adoption. <br /> la <br /> Aves noes A&E Ex Respectfully submitted, <br /> FORD X <br /> HIGA x COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> HOFFMANN X <br /> IKEDA X <br /> JACOBSON X <br /> NAEOLE X U`~i <br /> rlLACO x DOMINIC YAG IR <br /> YAGONC X FC RE 9S <br /> YOSHIMOTO X ADOPTED: <br /> <br />
