I live in South Kona.
2 support this resolution to purchase and protect 150 critical acres around Punalu'u.
This is a "no brainer." Do this now or what you will end up in Ka'u will be the start of
another Kona. Let Kona be Kona and Kau remain Kau.
You cannot believe developers' promises that there will be affordable housing and jobs
with decent wages for Kau people. It is better to save the land now and figure out what
to do from here rather than to count on unreliable promises by developers who just ant to
make money. Once the land is in the hands of developers, it will never be the same and
never go back.
To tell you the truth, I would like to see all the coastal property from Honaunau to
Punalu'u purchased and managed well and out of the hands of the developers.
Betsy Morrigan
87-3167 Honu Moe Road
Captain Cook, HI 96704 (Kona Paradise)
328-8911
r•.
u
-,;a
c_
c=-
_C
J
Comm.
