We employ 2 part-time clerks. <br /> Patsy Tamashiro works 3 days a week and is our Membership Secretary. Lani <br /> Merck works 4 days a week and also makes bags and pillows to sell in the shop. <br /> Pat Larson is the volunteer Gift Shop manager and maintains the store inventory. <br /> Lanaya Deily produces the postcards, bookmarks, magnets and other zoo <br /> souvenir merchandise. Barbara Thomason, Karla Cook, and Jean Curtis maintain <br /> the beverage/snack inventory. <br /> Projects done by the Community <br /> Waiakea Lion's Club built and poured foundations for three new octagonal <br /> cages <br /> Hilo Boy Scouts built 2 picnic tables in the parking lot and a small <br /> pavilion near the petting zoo as Eagle Scout projects <br /> HCCC continues to mow, weedwhack, prune, clean the grounds and build and <br /> repair rock walls and also has begun to maintain the Zoo wall area beside the <br /> highway <br /> Publications/Publicity <br /> Big Island Brochures continues to distribute rack cards island wide and at <br /> both airports <br /> 3 newsletters produced for members <br /> photos of zoo animals and plants for publicity, postcards, calendars, <br /> <br /> magnets, buttons, name badges, posters and more produced by Lanaya Deily <br /> press releases and PSA's of calendar, events, news <br /> <br />
