Pete Hoffmann <br /> Chair <br /> County of Hawaii <br /> County Council <br /> Re: Bill 55, Draft 2, Kailua Village Business <br /> Improvement <br /> District No. 1 <br /> Dear Chairman Hoffmann, <br /> Please support for adoption of Bill 55, Draft 2. <br /> The Kailua Village Business Improvement District is a much- <br /> needed solution to the existing deterioration to historical <br /> Kailua Village. <br /> <br /> As an employee of Huggo's I have witnessed and been a victim of: <br /> • One night I was walking to my car after work at 2:OOam. My <br /> car was parked in the Royal Kona Parking lot. There where <br /> these 4 people that followed me and the other manager to <br /> our cars in which they where harassing us all the way. <br /> When we got to our cars one of the four people jumped us <br /> while the other 3 cheered that person on. This is the <br /> first time I had to defend myself in which I latterly had <br /> to fight. Both me and the other manager where injured in <br /> this fight. This parking lot was suppose to be safe for us <br /> to park in. <br /> • Just last week I had a guest that parked across from Huggos <br /> after he had a wonderful dining experience he went to his <br /> car and to find out his car was broken into. The <br /> vandalistic took a rock and smashed out his window. <br /> • In April there was a incident in the Huggos parking lot <br /> which involved a woman who took off her high heel and <br /> smashed a guy in the head with it and then took her shoe <br /> and preceded to bash in his pick-up. <br /> • In January our cleaner showed up at 11:OOpm to clean the <br /> restaurant and was jumped and got beaten up by 3 men right <br /> outside the restaurant. <br /> Comm.
