Swallow, Linda
From: teach2ski2@aol.com
Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 8:35 PM
To: counciltestimony@co.hawaii.hi.us
Subject: Wilson, 6/13/07 =Preservation of Punaluu
Hello,
My name is Marci Wilson. I have property in Ocean View where I spend my summers with my daughter and friends
from the Mainland. I was raised in Kailua, Oahu before Hawaii was even a state, so I have great respect for the Hawaiian
ways. I have visited the place of my youth, but it has changed. Now, it is a busy, crowded city...the island is busy and

crowded. This southern part of the Big Island is how I remember old Hawaii The reason I bought property there was to
live that life again in the peace and gentleness of this land and to introduce my family to the Hawaii I love. Everytime I
go to Punaluu, the turtles are there also, at peace with the short time visitors. The local children and their families
are picnicing to the left of the beach, the tourists are to the right in seeming harmony. The tourists seem to respect this
place and the residents, turtles and the local people. don't let this change! We need this place for our future
generations! The turtles and all of island nature need this place! The Hawaiian culture is so unique and has so few
places of it's own left on the planet. This sacred place needs to be preserved!
Marci
AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com.
cam, ~ .3~3
Ref.
