I have
found the people in the area to be very complacent and passive. They are usually not open to new ideas. Kau
has had several offers for growth All have been denied because a few loud voices are heard. The loudest
voices do not reflecct the thinking of the silent majority, The issue before the Council is crucial . We need to be
futuristic in our planning for the area. We cannot continue to turn our backs on progressive development. Our
local communities are dying due to lack of employment and an sound economic base.
I urge you to be dynamic leaders and look to more than two ways of seeing this situation. Can you offer other
ideas and be more creative in your solutions? Can you make other alternative proposals? e.g. Can the
developers be encouraged to move their plans to another area along the coast? Can we find a middle ground?
Be the leaders ...you have been given the baton...carry it well. Marion Kittelson-Villanueva
Comm. No._ 3 1. ~Z~
Ref. To: r C~
Ref.
