This year's Management Letter contains findings and recommendations related to Collection of Receivables, and monitoring of Backup Media. SAYRE MEMORIAL FUND TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 25, 2007, transmitting the above resolution. The funds are designated to purchase new flight helmets, equipped with communication devices, for the pilots of the rescue helicopter based at the Waiakea Station and the pilots of the rescue/aeromedical helicopter pilots based at the South Kohala Station. Comm. 502: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 07-93, AS AMENDED, (Bill 119) RELATING TO PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2007 TO JUNE 30, 2008 (by appropriating the fifth and final increment of the fuel tax increase, established by Resolution Nos. 192-97 and 241-97, in the amount $7.2 million From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 26, 2007, transmitting the above bill. Projected revenues are being allocated utilizing the same distribution method as Increment 4 (based on each district's percent of miles of local streets), except that road mileage calculations now account for all roads maintained by the County. Previously, calculation excluded Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) roads as FWHA funds were used for those. The specific projects are listed on Exhibit A of the bill. The Waikoloa Workforce Housing (Kamakoa) Project is currently in the pre-development/design phase, with infrastructure construction expected to begin this summer. The total project is planned as a 1,200-unit development. Current focus is on Phase 1, which includes a mix of for sale and rental units, a park area, a community center, a day care center, parking, and a future school site, all intended for public use by the residents of the Waikoloa area. This appropriation will be used to fund Phase 1-A, part of the Phase 1 infrastructure and one park. As Phase 1-A proceeds, a Community Facilities District will be formed and funds will be borrowed to complete Phase 1-B, including most remaining public community facilities.
