No. 502/Bill No. 119 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 9:41 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 119, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 119, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 502, dated <br /> June 26, 2007, amends Ordinance No. 07-82, as amended, relating to Public Improvements and Financing <br /> <br /> thereof for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008, is hereby amended by establishing the following <br /> program appropriations: <br /> PROGRAM AMOUNT <br /> Projects (Engineering) $2,700,000 <br /> ADA Curb Cut & Accessible Route Program $ 500,000 <br /> Local Road Improvements $4,000,000 <br /> TOTAL $7,200,000 <br /> This measure appropriates the fifth and final increment of the fuel tax increase established by Resolution <br /> Nos. 192-97 and 241-98. Projected revenues are being allocated utilizing the same distribution method as <br /> Increment 4 (based on each district's percent of miles of local streets), except that road mileage <br /> calculations now account for all roads maintained by the County. Previously, calculations excluded <br /> FHWA roads and FHWA funds were used to maintain these roads. Presently, FHWA funds are used <br /> basically for new construction, safety and capacity upgrade and not for maintenance projects. <br /> Resurfacing projects for all County roads are now entirely funded through fuel taxes. <br /> FUEL TAX PROGRAM <br /> REVENUE APPROPRIATION <br /> INCREMENT 5 <br /> 2006-2008 <br /> <br /> PROJECTS (Engineerinsl $2,700,000 <br /> • BRIDGE PROGRAM (FHWA) <br /> ?
