REQUEST: <br /> Request to amend Ordinance 07-83 ,Capital Improvement Budget, to increase the appropriation for the <br /> following project: <br /> North Kona Sewer (110.699.5696.11) -County from $500,000 to $3,960,000 <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> A Project Data/Financial Impact Statement is attached. <br /> Design and Construction of the North Kona Sewer infrastructure is to be performed as part of the State of <br /> Hawaii, Department of Transportation -Highway Division's (State DOT) Queen Ka'ahumanu Widening <br /> Project -Phase II (Design-Build Project extending from Honokohau Harbor to Keahole Airport). Should <br /> installation of the North Kona Sewer infrastructure (from Honokahau Harbor to Hina Lani Street) occur after <br /> completion of the State DOT highway widening project, there will likely be significantly higher costs and <br /> tremendous negative impact to traffic flow. <br /> Due to anticipated increased project costs by approximately 55% and the State DOT's requirement of <br /> additional funds to cover contingency, construction engineering and administration costs, we wish to <br /> increase the FY07-08 appropriation request by $3,460,000 bringing the total requested appropriation to <br /> $3,960,000. The funding source is expected to be entirely County G.O.
