~~..,.,Y.,.,._.~.. _
Communication 509

Bill 126

At the July 24, 2007 meeting, there were no statements from the public received regarding this
agenda item. Applicants were present via video conference at the Hilo Council Chambers and
gave a brief summary of their proposed application.
Council Member Ikeda noted that the subject property is within his council district, saw no
negative impacts regarding this request and asked the Council for a favorable consideration of
applicants' request.
Council Member Ford expressed her desire that applicants make assurances that they would
contact the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers as instructed by the Department of Health and to
make a determination whether or not a NPDES individual permit would be necessary for their
proposed change of zone. Mrs. Rodillas stated it was their understanding that contact is to be
made 180 days after Council approval of their application for change of zone and they would do
so at that time.
Your Committee concurs with the Planning Commission and the Planning Director's favorable
recommendation for approval of the Change of Zone request.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 126 and
recommends it pass first reading.
and
AYES NOES A&E Ex Respectfully submitted,
FORD X
ffiGA X COIvIIvIITTEE ON PLANNING
IiOFFMANN X ~ /J
II~DA X
JACOBSON X
NAEOLE X K.
