Testimony Re: Cultural Resources Commission
September 18, 2007
Tomoe Nimori

I am a resident of North Kona and my family owns a coffee farm and a former mom and

pop store building, circa 1904, located on Mamalahoa Highway in Holualoa.

I support the establishment of the Culture Resources Commission for the following

reasons:
1. Hawaii Island's Strategic Plan for Tourism developed by the HTA (Section III C)
describes the vision of honoring the people and heritage of this island, providing
a unique, memorable and enriching visitor experience, and maintaining Hawaii's
quality of life.
2. I am a community member concerned about economic health that does not
compromise the quality of life of Kona and this island, present and future.
3. My volunteer activities involve working with community members who aze
willing to work in partnership with our County Government through guidelines
set forth in the Cultural Resources Commission.
~G
G 4 .
