SUBCHAPTER 1 <br /> GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> §15-110-1 Title. The rules in this chapter shall <br /> be known as the "Rules Pertaining to Indigenous Hawaiian <br /> <br /> Architecture Structures". The purpose of these rules is <br /> to implement section 16.26.3600, Maui County Code, <br /> relating to indigenous Hawaiian architecture, and to <br /> establish procedures for permitting, constructing, and <br /> inspecting indigenous Hawaiian architecture structures. <br /> The rules also further the County's interest in cultural, <br /> environmental, and historic preservation, energy <br /> efficiency, economic development, aesthetic beauty, and <br /> public safety. For purposes of this <br /> chapter, and unless it is plainly evident from the <br /> context that a different meaning is intended, certain <br /> words and phrases used herein are defined as follows: <br /> "Building code" means the building code under <br /> chapter 16.26, Maui County Code, as amended. <br /> "Building official" means the director of public <br /> works and environmental management of the County of Maui <br /> or the building official's designated representative. <br /> 110-3 <br /> <br />
