<br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ZONING CODE, ARTICLE 4, DIVISION 5, <br /> OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br /> OFF-STREET PARKING AND LOADING. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Chapter 25, Zoning <br /> Code, Article 4, Division 5, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), <br /> <br /> relating to Off-Street Parking and Loading, to improve the ability of the public to find and use <br /> parking spaces in appropriate locations. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 25, article 4, division 5, section 25-4-51, of the Hawaii County <br /> Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 25-4-51. Required number of parking spaces. <br /> (a) The number of parking spaces for each use shall be as follows: <br /> (1) Bed and breakfast establishments: one for each guest bedroom, in addition to <br /> [et~e] two for the dwelling unit. <br /> (2) Bowling alleys: four for each alley. <br /> (3) Commercial uses, including retail and office uses in RCX, CN, CG, CV, <br /> MCX, V, RA, FA, A and IA districts: one for each three hundred square feet <br /> of gross floor area. <br /> (4) Day care centers: one for each [iee] five care recipients of design capacity or <br /> one for every two hundred squaze feet of gross floor area, whichever is <br /> greater. <br /> (5) Dwellings, multiple-family: ~~a two standard-sized stalls far <br /> each unit, plus: <br /> ~A) For complexes of five or less units, a minimum of one standazd-sized <br /> parking space per complex shall be provided for euests; and <br /> (B) For complexes greater than five units, an additional ten percent of the <br /> total number of pazkinp spaces in the complex shall be standard-sized <br /> pazking spaces designated for euest parking. <br /> (6) Dwellings[, s.:b:c fu-: ily c.:.d d~ .~i° c _ a.._i°.,.....° F _ °°~w a.,,°n:,,,. <br /> mtit]: <br /> (A) Single-family, two standard-sized parking spaces; <br /> ~B) Double-family or duplex, two standard-sized parking spaces for each <br /> dwelling_unit; and <br /> (C) For duplex complexes of five units or more, an additional tenpercent of <br /> the total number of parking spaces in the complex shall be standard-sized <br /> parking aces designated for guest pazking. <br /> <br />
