As a development company, we recognize the <br /> importance of preserving Hawaii's natural resources. We are committed to maximizing <br /> energy efficient and green building practices in the Lokahi Ka'u apartment project in the <br /> following ways: <br /> • Solar Water Heating <br /> • Energy Star certified appliances in each unit <br /> • Low flow plumbing fixtures throughout the project <br /> • Energy Efficient light fixtures in both the units and common areas <br /> • Ceiling fans in each unit <br /> • Drought tolerant landscaping with an efficient watering system <br /> • Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs in each unit and common areas <br /> • Alight colored roof to reflect light and reduce heat absorption <br /> • Paint rated low or no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) on both the <br /> interior and exterior surfaces <br /> • Photovoltaic Solar Panels to reduce/eliminate common area electricity <br /> costs.
