No. 680/Bill No. 177 <br /> PLACE: Council room <br /> Ben Franklin Building, 2"`~ Floor <br /> 333 Kilauea Ave. <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 8:30 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred <br /> Communication 680, regarding Bill No. 177, relating to establishing a new bus stop location along <br /> Kamehameha Avenue, west side, beginning from a point sixty feet south of Kalakaua Street extending <br /> fifty feet in the southerly direction for a limited time from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on school days, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Bill 177, transmitted by Director of Public Works Bruce McClure, via Communication No. 680, dated <br /> September 12, 2007, amends Chapter 24 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), <br /> relating to Vehicles and Traffic. <br /> The Department of Public Works states this bus loading zone is being provided to reduce congestion <br /> along the pazking lot mauka of Kamehameha Avenue during the afternoon when the Connections New <br /> Century Public Charter School buses are loading students for their homeward journey. Since parking is a <br /> premium, this zone will only operate for one hour on school days. <br /> There was no testimony from members of the public regarding the proposed bill. <br /> Mr. Ronald L.
