,~fY or y~ rP",~ " COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 459 08 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE OF A DIGITAL MAILING SYSTEM (POSTAGE MACHINE) FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK-REPROGRAPHIC DIVISION WHEREAS, Article X, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the current postage machine, which is located in the Office of the County Clerk-Reprographic Division, has been in operations for over seven years and is obsolete; and WHEREAS, the Reprographic Division will need to replace the existing machine due to U. S. Post Office regulation in 2008; and WHEREAS, the monthly lease payment of a new digital mailing system should be approximately $500 per month and a request for purchase will be forwarded to the Purchasing Division; and WHEREAS, the Reprographics account (Account No. 010.101.5101.21) for the current fiscal year contains sufficient funds for the lease of the digital mailing system; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: 1. That in accordance with Article X, Section 10-11 of the County Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement for a digital mailing system (postage machine) for the Office of the County Clerk-Reprographic Division. 2. That sufficient funds are budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
