Mtv or.N_ COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII 'its ~.N~;M~ RESOLUTION NO. 481 ~8 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) WHEREAS, the Waikoloa Community Development Planning (CDP) Committee is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary organization of individuals committed to seeking solutions to the problems of their rapidly expanding rural community; and WHEREAS, the Waikoloa CDP Committee meets on a regular basis to better prepare area residents to participate in the community development planning process, which is being administered by the Planning Department and the Department of Research and Development; and WHEREAS, the Waikoloa CDP Committee serves members of the Waikoloa community by providing planning and community development education and support, and by raising community awareness through its meetings and community outreach activities; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development is currently engaged in a "community readiness" program in the Waikoloa community, as well as in other communities around Hawaii Island; and WHEREAS, the Waikoloa CDP Committee is recognized as a model organization for other communities around the island, because of its successful efforts to engage community stakeholders, to publicize the CDP process, to educate residents about issues involved in the CDP process, and to move the CDP process forward in the Waikoloa community; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development seeks to support the Waikoloa CDP Committee's publicity, communications, and public education efforts; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development for the Waikoloa CDP "Public Outreach" program; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
