All map corrections and <br /> <br /> notices of map revisions should be recorded and denoted on administrative maps, <br /> <br /> with the details kept in an indexed file. <br /> You should also cooperate with federal, state and local agencies, and private <br /> firms, undertaking flood studies. You must submit any new floodplain data to the <br /> FEMA Regional Office within six months of their development. Community staff <br /> should review revisions to maps (including Conditional Letters of Map Revision <br /> and Letters of Map Revision) to ensure they meet yaur regulations. <br /> You must notify the FEMA Regional Office and the state within one year of <br /> an annexation or when your community has assumed or relinquished authority to <br /> adopt or enforce floodplain management regulations for a particular area. The <br /> NFIP has special procedures that need to be followed to ensure that these areas <br /> are properly mapped and regulated and remain eligible for flood insurance. <br /> 44 CFR 59.22(a)(9)(v) Upon occurrence, [the community must) notify the Admin- <br /> istrator in writing whenever the boundaries of the community have been modified <br /> by annexation or the community has otherwise assumed or no longer has author- <br /> ity to adopt and enforce flood plain management regulations for a particular area. <br /> In order that all FHBMs and FIRMS accurately represent the community's <br /> boundaries, include within such notification a copy of a map of the community <br /> suitable for reproduction, clearly delineating the new corporate limits or new area <br /> for which the community has assumed or relinquished flood plain management <br /> re ulator authorit . <br /> You must notify the FEMA Regional Office and the state within six months of <br /> physical changes that can affect flooding conditions, such as channel modifica- <br /> tions or upstream detention. <br /> 44 CFR 65.3. A community's base flood elevations may increase or decrease re- <br /> sulting from physical changes affecting flooding conditions. As soon as <br /> practicable, but not later than six months after the date such information be- <br /> comes available, a community shall notify the Administrator of the changes by <br /> submitting technical or scientific data in accordance with this part. Such a sub- <br /> mission is necessary so that upon confirmation of those physical changes <br /> affecting Flooding conditions, risk premium rates and flood plain management re- <br /> quirements will be based upon current data. <br /> Update the ordinance: If your community is notified of changes in federal or <br /> state laws and/or regulations that would require changing your floodplain man- <br /> agement ordinance, you must revise your ordinance within six months. <br /> 44 CFR 60.7.
