COUNTY OF HAWAT T ~-`a <br /> FATE OF HAWAI I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 513 OS <br /> RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO NEGOTIATE A <br /> LEASE WITH THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN THE STATE OF HAWAI~2, <br /> DBA OFFICE FOR SOCIAL MINISTRY, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING <br /> SERVICES TO HOMELESS PERSONS WITH TERMS TO INCLUDE A RENTAL TERM <br /> OF TEN YEARS AT A SET RENTAL OF $10.00 PER YEAR. <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-120, Hawai i <br /> County Code, as amended, provides that the County Council may <br /> direct the Finance Director to negotiate the disposition of real <br /> property by lease to non-profit organizations at such rentals <br /> and on such terms and conditions as deemed proper without notice <br /> or appraisal; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Roman Catholic Church in the State of Hawaii, <br /> dba Office for Social Ministry, a non-profit organization, <br /> desires to provide services to homeless persons at a unit at <br /> 1495 Kuleana Place, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, located at Tax Map Key <br /> 2-4-064:018; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County Council has determined that there is a <br /> need for provision of services to homeless persons throughout <br /> this County and in East Hawaii. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> <br /> OF HAWAII, that the Finance Director is hereby authorized to <br /> <br /> negotiate a lease with the Office for Social Ministry for a term <br /> <br /> of ten years at a set rate of $10.00 per year for the purpose of <br /> <br /> operating a unit to provide services to homeless persons. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be <br /> <br /> transmitted to the Office of Housing and Community Development. <br /> <br />
