B. 1577

Aloha Councilpersons:

My name is Greg Colden and I own Kokoleka Lani Farms a cacao and coffee farm in Holualoa, North Kona
District. I grow cacao for the Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory and earn very little income from that
endeavor. However, I sell my estate grown 100% Kona Coffee and make an amount which helps to offset my
farm expenses and produce some profit for myself and partner. We have 1800 cacao trees and 300 coffee
trees. Our 100% Kona Coffee has a tremendous following of customers and we sell out of coffee usually by
April of each year. I am concerned that if GMO coffee is allowed, even for research, it will infect the rest of our
specially coffee that is known worldwide. Please do not let scientists dictate in the name of research altering
what is unique and special to Hawaii.
I urge you to support the resolution supporting H.B. 1577 H.D. 1
Mahalo GREG COLDEN Kokoleka Lani Farms www.KonaNaturalSoap.com

Start the year off right.
