The
oldest of three children, as a senior in high school, he was in charge of taking care of his mother
and two brothers, operating the family coffee farm, and running the family household. Improvement projects
included: cleazing brush; constructing backstops, dugouts, picnic tables, scorekeeper and
equipment sheds, and goal posts; landscaping the park; and installing fencing and gates. Even
after completion of all of these projects, Clarence, with typical aloha and humility, said that there
were things which still needed to be done.
Clarence Lum Won passed away on November 7, 2007 at the age of 68.
