Mvv of Iy:.T~ <br /> . ~ili{i <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> °'~%'o..~'~'• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 526 08 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $500 TO THE <br /> HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Ms. Sara (Sally) Schuff, experienced a pulmonary embolism while snorkeling at Kahalu'u <br /> Beach in Kona on Sunday, January 6, 2008; and <br /> WHEREAS, she received life-saving care from Water Safety Officer Sean Gallagher and in <br /> appreciation of these services, which were vital for her favorable outcome, she is donating $500 to support the <br /> Ocean Safety program, under the Hawaii Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on <br /> behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii <br /> accepts the $500. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Ms. Sara (Sally) Schuff, <br /> 520 N Street SW, Washington D.C. 20024, acknowledging this donation. <br /> Dated at xona ,Hawaii, this 12th day of March , 2008. <br /> INTRODUCED BY: <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER, F HAWAII <br /> COUNTY COUNCIL ROLL CALL VOTE <br /> County of Hawaii <br /> Hilo.
