This commission is very important to the future of this island in terms of being an active agent for the <br /> preservation of historic sites and features unique to the big island. The amendments to clarify commissioner terms of office <br /> are good ones and helps to clarify the responsibilities involved. <br /> It is important that this commission be initiated as soon as possible, for there is much work to be done in obtaining federal <br /> funding to help with conducting an inventory of the island's historical features. There is widespread support for work that the <br /> commission would do. <br /> Your favorable action on this measure is greatly appreciated.
