rr ar y__ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 559 ®8 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> WHEREAS, in late 2007, the Kohala district was subject to a series of arson fires, the <br /> biggest in October 2007 which burned simultaneously in nine locations, destroying over 2,600 <br /> acres of land, resulting in the evacuation of 400 residents and 200 homes; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is vital that arsonists, willing to endanger the lives of residents of the Big <br /> Island and members of the Fire Department, be stopped and punished for these crimes; and <br /> WHEREAS, District 9 (North and South Kohala) is willing to offer a monetary reward <br /> for any valuable information on identifying and locating the arsonists responsible for setting off <br /> these fires; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Sayer Foundation; a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization will act as fiscal <br /> sponsor for the reward for the arsonists; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to <br /> the Fire Department, to be used to fund the reward for identifying and locating the arsons; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount be and is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: GENERAL <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $5,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $5,000 <br /> <br />
