No. 1015/Bi11245 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br /> 78-128 Ehukai St. <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> <br /> TIME: 9:37 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works & Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred in <br /> Communication 1015, regarding Bi11245, reports as follows: <br /> Bill 245, transmitted by Director of Public Works, Bruce McClure, via Communication No. 1015, <br /> dated February 1, 2008, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-253.1, Schedule 1.1 (15 <br /> mile per hour limit), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br /> amended) by adding Omao Street, from Kaumana Drive to a point six hundred feet in the southeasterly <br /> direction. <br /> There was no testimony from the public on this proposed amendment. <br /> Council Member Donald Ikeda stated he supports this proposed amendment as this is in his district and <br /> has received many complaints of speeding in the area. <br /> Mr. Ron Thiel, Traffic Division Chief; Mr. Bruce McClure, Director; and Mr. Jiro Sumada, Deputy <br /> Director, from the Department of Public Works appeared before your Committee.
