~rw~ COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII .h,os.M' RESOLUTION NO. 566 08 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S). WHEREAS, AdvoCATS, Inc. is anon-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the well- being of the Hawaii Island's feral cat population, and has proven on Oahu and Kauai that "Trap, Neuter, Release" (T-N-R) is the best way to reduce the population of feral cats by stopping their reproduction, maintaining colonies of healthy feral cats, and natural attrition; and WHEREAS, AdvoCATS, Inc. supports the resolution of the County of Hawaii to use T- N-R as the official policy for controlling feral cats; and WHEREAS, AdvoCATS, Inc. supplies the spay-meter packs and drugs to reduce the population of feral cats, arranges for local veterinazians to neuter cats, and provides the volunteers to assist in Gazing for feral colonies and assist in surgery preparation and post- operative Gaze; and WHEREAS, AdvoCATs, Inc. require anesthesia, antibiotics, and surgery suplies to spay and meter feral cats; and WHEREAS, Contingency funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Police DepartmenUAnimal Control to be funded towards AdvoCATS, Inc. to defray costs to trap, neuter, and release feral cats; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $7,500 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $7,500 CREDITED TO: 010.239.5239.01 Police DepartmentlAnimal Control $7,500 Humane Society Misc. Contract Services (AdvoCATS, Inc.-spay and neuter program)
