(Draft 2) <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br /> (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-267, schedule 15 (One way <br /> streets), subsection (f) Kona, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 edition, as amended) is <br /> amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: <br /> ) Haleki`i Street. All vehicular traffic shall move in the eastbound direction <br /> only from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Mondav through Friday, except <br /> holidays, for the Haleki`i Street Extension (four thousand feet), extending <br /> from the Mamalahoa Highway Bypass to a point 600 feet makai of the <br /> Muli Street intersection." <br /> SECTION 2. New material is underscored. Material to be repealed is bracketed <br /> <br /> and stricken. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and stricken <br /> material and underscoring need not be included. <br /> SECTION 3. This ordinance shall sunset six months after the opening of the <br /> Haleki`i Street Extension for public use. Upon termination of the one-way restriction, the <br /> Haleki`i Street Extension extending four thousand feet eastbound from the Mamalahoa <br /> <br /> Bypass Highway will be closed to public traffic and will be available for emergency use <br /> <br /> only. <br /> SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any <br /> <br /> person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or <br /> <br /> applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or <br /> <br /> application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. <br /> <br />
