REPORT OF TT-IF, <br /> COMMITTEE ON PLANNING <br /> DATE: March 24, 2008 Re: Comm. 1091 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> 333 K?lauea Avenue, 2"d Floor <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> TIME: 1:30 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication 1091, reports as follows: <br /> Communication 1091 from Mayor Harry Kim, dated March 11, 2008 nominates Ms. Charlene <br /> Hart of Council District 6 to serve on the County of Hawaii Board of Appeals. <br /> Ms. Hart is a 45-year resident of Hawaii and presently works as a Community Coordinator for <br /> the Department of Education's Hilo Community School for Adults. Ms. Hart served on the <br /> Board of Directors for the Hawaiian Shores Community Association, Bay Clinic, Ka`u <br /> Community Development Corporation, and the Ka`u Learning Center. <br /> Ms. Hart states that she is not affiliated with any political party and, if confirmed, she will serve <br /> a term to expire on December 31, 2012, replacing Ms. Diane Gentry, whose term expired on <br /> December 31, 2007. <br /> Pursuant to Section 13-4, Hawaii County Charter, the Hawaii County Board of Appeals shall <br /> consist of members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council. <br /> At the March 24, 2008 Planning Committee meeting, Council Members Naeole and Jacobson <br /> expressed appreciation for Ms. Hart's dedication and community service in Hawaii County and <br /> stated their full support. Ms. Hart stated that although she is currently in the field of education, <br /> she felt her background in engineering, community service and self motivation prepares her in <br /> <br /> making the commitment to serve on the Hawaii County Board of Appeals. <br /> PC Report No. 80 <br /> <br />
