MZV Oi y~ <br /> Ldig <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 1T~ Oi~M~t` <br /> 08 ~ BILL NO. 259 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 15, SECTION 2-91.1(a), HAWAII <br /> COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO FILING OF <br /> <br /> FINANCIAL DISCLOSURES BY REGULATORY EMPLOYEES. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Purpose. In 2000, the voters of the County of Hawaii amended the Hawaii <br /> County Charter to create the Department of Environmental Management. Prior to this Charter <br /> amendment, the divisions currently under the Department of Environmental Management belonged to <br /> the Department of Public Works. Presently, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 15, Section 2-91.1 of the <br /> Hawai' i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), only regulatory employees of the Department <br /> of Public Works, and not the Department of Environmental Management, are required to file financial <br /> disclosures. The purpose of this ordinance is to correct this obvious oversight, and to provide that <br /> regulatory employees from the Department of Environmental Management are required to file financial <br /> disclosures. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 2, Article 15, Section 2-91.1(a), Idawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 <br /> Edition, as amended), is amended as follows: <br /> (a) Definitions. The following words used in this section shall have the respective meanings in <br /> this section: <br /> (1) "Candidate" has the meaning given it by section 11-191(3)," Hawaii Revised Statutes; <br /> (2) "Elective" means all elective offices of the County ofHawai`i; <br /> (3) "Income" means gross income defined by section 61 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954; <br /> (4) "Regulatory employee" means: <br /> (A) Supervisors of inspectors employed by the department of public works and <br /> denartment of environmental management; <br /> (B) Inspectors employed by the department of public works and de artment of <br /> environmental mana eg <br /> ment; <br /> (C) Supervisors of liquor contrrol investigators; <br /> (D) Liquor control investigators; <br /> (E) Buyers and purchasing agents; <br /> (F) Supervisors of real property tax appraisers; <br /> (G) Real property tax appraisers; <br /> (H) Planners employed by the planning department; <br /> (I) Supervisors of inspectors employed by the department of water supply; <br /> (J) Inspectors employed by the department of water supply; <br /> (K) The legislative auditor. <br /> <br />
