Finance Dircctor_ <br />transmitting Resolution No 41-03 tar Council considcmtion. <br />The purpose of Resolution Vo. d1-03 is to authori're the abandonment and quitclaim of a road <br />remnant that is 0.077 acres in sine and identilied as Tax Map Key No. (3) i-2-02 to Valerie <br />De Frain. Exhibit A turther delineating the parcel is also attached to the Resolution No. TI-0,. <br />According to the Resolution No. 41-03. the road remnant is located in Piha l lomestcads. North <br />I lilo, Hawaii, and is considered a "paper road" because it is only noted on area maps, but not <br />physically identitiable on the ground. Further, dre remnant has been appraised at a value of <br />$500.00 and reportedly tray ernes through Ms. DeP7ain's real propert}. As such, the rexilulion <br />resolves that quitclaiming this piece to Ms. Del~rain would be in the interest of the axmh~ and <br />Ms. Dcl~rain. <br />'T'his conunittec first considered this matter on M~u'ch 1 K. 200:. At [his meeting, titanlc~ Iwamoto <br />of the Finance Department Accounts Division. and Ms. Valerie Del~rain provided a brief <br />commentary about the origins and purpose Resolution No. 41-0;. Mr. hvamoto explained that the <br />road is not in existence on the ground. Ms. DePrain reported that her desire to obtain the road was <br />to enable her to treat the property in a manner that would decrease the erosion to her adjoining <br />propert}. <br />Your committee deterred action on this matter pending a site visit to the subject parcel and <br />communication from the titate~s Na -~la I lele frail Council. <br />(hr April 21.200;. members of this committee: conducted a site visit to this remnant. <br />Mr. Iwamoto and Ms. Delhuin accompanied your Committee. Committee members walked the <br />subject parcel as well as od~cr parts ul~the old roadwa~~ noted on an area map. During the visit. <br />Ms. DePrain explained that a recent survey identilied her property nn bulb sides of the countv~s <br />roadway parcel. <br />
