Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 245-04, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 245-04, transmitted jointly wide Bill No. 340 by Director of Finance <br />William Takaba, via Communication No. 783, dated September 22, 2004, authorizes the Oftce <br />of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Stale of Hawaii Department of Transportation, <br />Public Affairs Office -Safe Community Program for a Data Urant Program. <br />fhe State of l~lawai'i Department of Transportation, Public Affairs Office -Safe Community <br />Program has authorized a $10,000 grant to the Police Department for a Data Grant Program. The <br />goal of this program is to initiate activities such as legislation that affects electronic data transfer <br />and the implementation of Hawai'i's statewide data system. Statewide traffic commanders and <br />other stakeholders will participate in monthly meetings of the traffic data records committee to <br />address these data issues. <br />Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, county departments must obtain the consent <br />of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to <br />he taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds <br />or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br />powers. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 245-04 <br />and recommends its adoption. <br />SIT1C <br /> ~Al!S NOY;ti ~d F: AI75 <br />CHIING X <br />SA FARIK X <br />ARA KAKI X <br />F.LARIONOFF X <br />HOLSCHUH X <br />JACOBSON X <br />REYNOLDS X <br />TIILANG X <br />TYLER X <br />=C REPORT NO.
