No. 804/Bill No. 350 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 350, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 350, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, via Communication No. 804, dated October 7, 2004, <br />amends Ordinance No. 04-74. as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2005. The <br />amendment is as follows: <br />Prom: <br />3609.10 Fund Balance from Prior Year <br />General $3,217.488 <br />Tb <br />010-161-516.01 Research and Development S&W <br />010-171-5171.22 Building R & M OCE <br />010-801-5801.33 Transfer to Capital Project Fund-G <br />0l 0-801-5801.43 Transfer to Self Insurance Fund <br />'these additional funds will be used as follows: <br />General $ 37,488 <br />$ 80,000 <br />$ 600,000 <br />$2,500,000 <br />TOTAL $3,217,488 <br />• Self-Insurance Fiord ($2,500,000) to cover approved and anticipated settlements and to provide a <br />reserve for future claims. <br />• Parks & Recreation Repair and Maintenance ($600,000). $100,000 will be used to replace up to <br />ten life guard towers, four of which have already been removed because they were unsafe. 'i~he <br />additional $500,000 will be used to make major repairs to Laupahoehoe gym, La`aloa Beach <br />Park and other park facilities. <br />• Honoka'a Sewer System ($80,000) will be used for a preliminary engineering study for the <br />County~s sewer system in downtown Honoka`a. The estimated cost of the study is $100,000, of <br />which $20,000 will be covered by Council Member Fred Holschuh's discretionary fund. <br />• Research & Development Deputy Director ($37,488) will be used to fund the Research & <br />Development Deputy position for the last six months of this fiscal year. <br />Pursuant to Section 10-8 of the Hawaii County Charter relating to supplemental appropriations. the <br />Mayor has certified that there is an excess balance of $6,697,734.37 in the General Fund fund balance as <br />of Junc 30, 2004. <br />FC REPORT NO. __ 337 <br />
