No. 832/Bill No. 363 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 363, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 363. transmitted_joinUy with Resolution No. 260-04 by Director of Finance William Takaba, <br />via Communication No. 832, dated October 22, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 04-74. as amended, the <br />Operating Budget, ending .tune 30. 2005. The amendment is as follows: <br />From: <br />3303.66 Federal Grants-Spine Boards General $10,]63.20 <br />Total $10.163.20 <br />To: <br />010-221-5228.07 Fire Grants -Spine Boards -Fed General $10,163.20 <br />Total $10,163.20 <br />The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation has authorized funding towards the Hawaii County <br />Fire Department's Spine Board Equipment Purchase Project. These grants funds, derived from federal <br />funds provided under the National Highway Safety Act of 1966, will be used to purchase fifty (50) radio <br />translucent spine boards that will be distributed to the fire stations island-wide. 7~he purchase of <br />additional radio translucent spine boards will eliminates the need to transfer patients from spinal <br />immobilization boards to obtain x-rays, prevent additional injuries to patients during x-rays and enhance <br />eadi ambulance unit's ability to cover multiple injuries at each vehicle accident. <br />Pursuant to Section 46-7.
