POLICE AND FIRE PROTECTION <br /> <br /> Impacts on police and fire protection are at a minimum with a 6-lot addition in this <br /> development. All roadways are paved and able to handle the anticipated traffic and equipment. <br /> <br /> 30. SCHOOLS <br /> <br /> Public schools are available with the school district. Kealakehe Elementary School <br /> services the lower grades, while the newly built Kealakehe High School will service the middle <br /> and upper grades. Several private pre-school are strategically located through-out the <br /> community. <br /> <br /> 31. PARKS <br /> <br /> Public parks and playground facilities are located at the Old Airport grounds in Kailua <br /> town. <br /> <br /> 32. OTHER UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> <br /> Overhead power and telephone services are existing within the road right of way and are <br /> available to the proposed development. <br /> <br /> <br /> E. ENVMONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND ANALYSIS <br /> <br /> 33. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LOCAL SHORT TERM USES OF ENVIRONMENT AND <br /> MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT OF LONG TERM PRODUCTIVITY <br /> <br /> After completion of road improvements and partial clearing of the property, the proposed <br /> residential uses will be permanent with minimal impact. <br /> <br /> 34. MITIGATIVE MEASURES PROPOSED TO AVOID, MDgMLZE, RECTIFY OR <br /> REDUCE IMPACT <br /> <br /> The following mitigating measures are being proposed: <br /> a. A 60-foot "forest reserve easement" for buffer purposes along the existing <br /> road <br /> b. A 60-foot structural set back along the existing road <br /> c. A 30 foot "forest reserve easement" along all lot lines as a buffer between <br /> parcels <br /> d. At least 50% of the lot area shall be retain in forest <br /> e. A restriction against second dwelling on each lot <br /> f A conservation plan shall be prepared for the subdivided lots <br /> <br /> <br /> /1 <br />
