"O:~K, ;s the forth-Eif+h aay prior to the next scheduled <br />general election; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE (:'OUNCIL OF 'l't~E COUNTY OF HAWAII that it <br />hereby directs the County Clerk of the County of llawai`i to take all necessary steps provided for <br />in all applicable provisions of the Hawaii County Charter and the Hawaii Revised Statutes <br />within the prescribed time limits for placing the Charter amendment proposed by Ordinance No. <br />08-81 on the 2008 General Election ballot for approval by the voters of the County. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that those actions include but are not limited to <br />submission of the ballot question to Kevin B. Cronin, Chief Election Officer of the State of <br />Hawaii prior to 4:30 p.m., September 5, 2008, pursuant to section l 1-119(b) Hawaii Revised <br />Statutes and publication of the full text of the Charter amendment proposed by Ordinance No. <br />08-81 ir, the Hawaii Tribune Herald and the West Hawaii Today, two newspapers of general <br />circulation in the County, prior to September 20, 2008, the forty-fifth day prior to the 2008 <br />General Election pursuant to section 15-2 of the Hawaii County Charter. <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that certified copies of this resolution be sent to Kevin <br />B.
