COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />696 08 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO <br />A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br />WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency passed a law which <br />states that all existing large capacity cesspools were to be closed by Apri15, 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Dennis Tulang, from Oahu, has been assisting the County of <br />Hawaii for the past five years with disconnecting residential homes from large capacity <br />cesspools, and for the past two years he has been providing his services at no charge; and <br />WHEREAS, given that Mr. Tulang has volunteered his time and knowledge to assist <br />the constituents of Council District 3, all travel and meal expenses incurred while working on <br />this project were paid for by the County through Contingency Relief funds from Council <br />District 3; and <br />WHEREAS, three previous resolutions with a combined total of $5,000 have been <br />transferred; however, only $3,400 have been expended as the remaining funds lapsed at the <br />end of each fiscal year; and <br />WHEREAS, this project is almost completed and additional funds are needed so that <br />Mr. Tulang may continue to assist the homeowners with disconnecting from their large <br />capacity cesspool; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated <br />to the Office of the County Clerk to fund all reimbursements for travel and meal expenses <br />incurred by Mr. Dennis Tulang for Fiscal Year 2008-2009; now, therefore, <br />
