BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> <br /> The Waste Management of Hawaii has contributed $101,500 as part of a settlement with the USEPA to the <br /> County of Hawaii Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division to put towards a <br /> Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) at the Old Closed Kailua-Kona landfill to combat the <br /> underground fire that has continued since the early 1990's.
