Comm. 1332: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 20, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (Bill 326) (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED) BY ADDING A NEW ARTICLE 5 PERTAINING TO PLASTIC BAG REDUCTION (prohibits the use of non-biodegradable plastic shopping bags by businesses and encourages the use of environmentally preferable alternatives, such as recyclable paper bags or reusable ba.~s. Requires the Environmental Management Director to administer the Article.) From Council Chairperson Pete Hoffmann, dated June 30, 2008, transmitting the above bill. If for technical or other unanticipated circumstances the video connection cannot be made and/or is disrupted, the scheduled meeting will continue. In the event of an unanticipated emergency situation, including but not limited to: severe adverse weather conditions, road closures, or natural disasters, the Hawaii County Council and its Committees may conduct its meetings via videoconference pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes §92-3.5. If that occurs, individual Councilmembers may be at either the meeting site or one of the videoconference sites. If the audio stream is lost for more than a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated.
