Sanford
Tax Map Key: 6-2-11: 22

We are revising our attached comments of July 1, 1998 to read as follows:

The proposed 2-lot subdivision by itself should not result in any significant impacts on our State
highway facilities.

However, we view the application as a precedent leading to greater housing density and vehicular
traffic. If more of these 2-lot subdivisions are permitted, their cumulative effects will result in
increased traffic and safety impacts at the intersections of our Waimea-Kawaihae Road with
Anekona and Kanehoa Streets.

We understand that you are aware of this problem and are presently investigating the possibility
of having all of the subdivision owners share the costs of any needed highway improvements
(channelizing and illuminating the intersections).

08811
