REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS <br /> DATE: May 6, 1997 RE: COMM. NO. 276 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 8:05 a m. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 276 <br /> and attached Resolution No. 78, reports as follows: <br /> The purpose of Resolution No. 78 is to recognize the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program <br /> (RSVP) for its twenty-five years of service to the community. This Resolution honors the RSVP <br /> and its 1,136 volunteers for the more than 150,000 hours of service that they have graciously <br /> donated to the community. <br /> Communication No. 276 is a memorandum from Council Chairperson James Arakaki dated <br /> April 24, 1997 which transmits Resolution No. 78 to Committee Chairperson Dominic Yagong. <br /> Chairperson Arakaki stated that adoption of Resolution No. 78 will signify that the County <br /> Council has gone on record as recognizing the value of this program.
