"Julie" Tulang as Director of the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation for the County of Hawaii. Ms. Tulang has ably provided the <br /> Department of Parks and Recreation, and the County of Hawaii with 24 years of service. <br /> The past six years were as Deputy Director of that Department. Ms. Tulang was the key <br /> program director that launched the Hawaii County Nutrition Program for the elderly and <br /> also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics and a Masters degree in <br /> Education from Linfield College in Oregon. It is my wish that Ms. Tulang succeeds <br /> George Yoshida who retires as Director on October 16, 1998. <br /> <br /> I ask for your favorable consideration and approval of this appointment.
