I work at the Ka'u Hospital and occasionally see
patients suffering from the effects of illegal drug use. Children should be kept away from
drugs. The Marijuana Eradication Program should reduce the available amount of
marijuana on the streets and in homes. I have seen voung people smoking the illegal
drug on the streets and even in front of me. This really bothers me!

Use of marijuana can lead to stealing things to sell for drug money. The kids that are
smoking it, do not realize that they are harming themseh es. Some pregnant mothers who
use marijuana are hurting their babies. Babies of such persons are at risk for birth defects
and other problems. These babies may require large amounts of money for health care
assistance and be a burden on our welfare system.

Please continue to provide monies for the Mariiuana Eradication Program. I believe that
it will significantly reduce the amount of available marijuana.

Sincerely,
co-__~
Donna Matsumoto

P.S. I felt uncomfortable at writing m}' own letteā€ž so I requested Officer William Doar
to type this letter for me. I have read this letter and it accurately expresses my
thoughts and concerns.]

a
