When contacting aircrafts flying in the area <br /> of the reported complaints, we were able to determine that they <br /> were not violating height and/or operational procedures as set <br /> forth by our internal "Procedures for Marijuana Eradication <br /> Operations." Although law enforcement agencies involved in any <br /> enforcement efforts are not governed by Federal Aviation Agency <br /> regulations, these procedures were developed to establish <br /> self-imposed guidelines in consideration of the public's <br /> concerns for helicopter operations during marijuana eradication <br /> missions conducted by our Department. <br /> On several occasions calls to commend and encourage the <br /> continuance of the operations were also received from the <br /> public sector. We further received a number of undocumented <br /> calls throughout the year relating to helicopter noise and/or <br /> low flying aircraft that are not related to any of our <br /> missions.
