The property involved, owned by <br />Kohala LLC, is located along the southwest (makai) side of Akoni Pule Highway and the <br />Kohala Ranch Subdivision, Kahua ls`, North Kohala, Hawaii. <br />The Commission concurs with the Planning Director's unfavorable recommendation as <br />follows: <br />The Planning Director is recommending that the Planning Commission <br />forward an unfavorable recommendation for Bill No. 237, Draft 2, initiated by the <br />County Council, which amends Bill 237 to downzone the subject property from <br />R5-15 to RA-15a, instead of the RA-Sa zoning previously initiated by the <br />Planning Director. While the Planning Director understands and sympathizes <br />with public testimony in favor of the council-proposed RA-15a zoning, the <br />Planning Director continues to recommend RA-Sa zoning for the following <br />reasons: <br />Hawaii Caunry is art Equal Opporhtiniry Provider and Employer <br />
