<br />3. DUTIES OF THE POSITION

<br />Under the general supervision of the Police Captain, the CL~stodian/Groundskeeper I is responsible for the routine Show
<br />manual work in cleaning and maintaining assigned Ka'u Police Station and Hawaiian Ocean View Estates Sub- %
<br />Station, to include the surrounding areas, and the maintenance of landscaped grounds, paved and unpaved areas by of time.
<br />using hand and power tools, to include light motorized equipment; and pertorming other related duties as required.
<br />1) Wipes, dusts, and polishes office furniture, desks, file cabinets, counter tops, locker tops, handrails, fuel pumps,
<br />ledges, wood louvers, and metal work. Cleans and polishes door hardware, mirrors, and other stainless steel and
<br />chrome fixtures. Empties and wipes clean ashtrays, smoking stands, pencil sharpeners, and trash receptacles.
<br />Removes trash and empties into rubbish bins; and changes liners as needed. Cleans and disinfects water fountains
<br />and telephones. Cleans inside and out of glass doors, glass walls and glass partitions, ledges, light fixtures, air
<br />conditioning vents and ducts, wall clocks, fire extinguisher receptacles, and iron bars in cells. Lifts and transports 30%
<br />heavy objects such as desks, filing cabinets, tables, refuse barrels, and equipment. straighten and arrange desks,
<br />chairs, bookcases, and other office equipment. (1,2,3,4)
<br />2) Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors, hallways, stairways, elevators, laboratories and offices. Disinfects floors,
<br />urinals, toilets, showers, walls, countertops, and wash basins; services restrooms; replenishes supplies, such as
<br />toilet seat covers, soap, paper towels, toilet paper, deodorant dispensers, etc. May strips, wax, and polish floors,
<br />shampoo carpets as necessary. Scrubs and disinfects benches and walls of sauna rooms, showers, file floors. and 30%
<br />all ceramic file areas in locker rooms and laboratories. (1,2,3,4)
