Soil Survey: Honaunau extremely rocky silty clay loam, 6 to 20 percent slopes (HRD). <br />16. Flora and Fauna: The property is currently vacant and landscaped with grasses. <br />17. ArchaeologicaUCulturaUHistorical Resources: An archaeological assessment was <br />conducted by Rechtman Consulting, LLC for the Environmental Assessment. In <br />response to the archaeological assessment, the Department of Land and Natural <br />Resources issued a "no-effect" letter dated July 10, 2008 stating DLNR-SHPD believes <br />that "no historic properties will be affected" by this undertaking because previous <br />grubbing grading has altered the land. The archaeological assessment is part of the Final <br />Environmental Assessment (Planning Department Exhibit 2). <br />18. FIRM: Zone X, an area outside the 500-year flood plain. <br />PUBLIC FACILITIES <br />19. Access: Access to the visitor education center is proposed to be from Mamalahoa <br />Highway, which is a County owned and maintained paved roadway within a 50-foot <br />right-of--way. The applicant is proposing to obtain an easement over a small comer of <br />Arthur Greenwell Park (TMK: 8-2-13:5) to gain access from the highway. The applicant <br />is also proposing to improve the short easement and a short segment of atwo-lane <br />unimproved County road lot, which runs along the southeast boundary of the property, to <br />provide access to the visitor center. Visitors will no longer use the current access to the <br />Garden, which is an unpaved road located to the north of the Garden property from <br />Mamalahoa Highway. <br />20. Water: County water is available to the property. <br />21. Wastewater: The applicant will comply with wastewater requirements of the State <br />Department of Health <br />22.
